project story
Article
I sometimes get asked to participate in testing ideas. This time around it was to get a feel for how far we could take an arena show for one of Netherlands greatest artists. At first, we tested a U2 style set up to have an idea to how close we could get the artist to the audience. Although the artist loved the idea of being this close to his audience, the wish to have an orchestra on stage required significant adjustments. So concept nr two involved a two-step elevator system as well as a moving truss system to provide six different ways to either hide the orchestra or push them slightly more to the background. The artist quickly fell in love with the idea of creating different levels of intimacy with the crowd by adapting the shape and size of the set.
